Tech Requirements for Meetings

A complete guide on tech requirements for running a meeting within PublicInput.

General Requirements

Webex

  • PublicInput only works with Webex Meetings plans (NOT Webinars or Events)

  • Must be on a paid Webex Meetings plan to live stream

    • Cannot livestream from a Webex for Government Account

    • Admin must enable live streaming

    • Must be on Webex video platform V2.0 or greater

  • For live streaming, users must use the Webex Desktop App

    • Webex browser version does not support live streaming

  • Free Webex accounts can still use phone bridge, but cannot livestream

Zoom

  • Zoom must be integrated with PublicInput to livestream meetings

  • Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux: Global minimum version or higher

  • Zoom web version does work for live streaming

  • Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: Global minimum version or higher

  • Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account

  • Stripe or PayPal Business account is required to create paid events

  • Free Zoom account can still use phone bridge, but cannot live stream

    • NOTE: Capped at 40 minutes and 100 attendees

  • Zoom Webinar is NOT supported by PublicInput

MS Teams

  • To be able to create a live event, a person needs to have the following things (your IT admin can provide more information):

    • An Office 365 Enterprise E1, E3, or E5 license or an Office 365 A3 or A5 license.

    • Permission to create live events in the Microsoft Teams admin center.

    • Permission to create live events in Microsoft Stream (for events produced using an external broadcasting app or device).

    • Full team membership in the org (can’t be a guest or from another org).

    • Private meeting scheduling, screensharing, and IP video sharing, turned on in Team meeting policy.

    • System Requirements

      • Supported operating systems: Windows 7 and later (32-bit and 64-bit), macOS X 10.10 and later

      • Supported mobile operating systems: Android 4.4 and later, iOS 10 and later

      • Supported web browsers: Chrome (last 3 versions), Edge RS2 and later, Firefox (last 3 versions), Internet Explorer 11, Safari

    • Additional Notes

      • Teams Rooms on Windows can only support live event presenters.

      • Teams for Windows 10 S can't support presenters or producers.

      • Guest users can't join as attendees on the web, and must join using either desktop, iPad, or mobile.

Google Meet

  • “Livestream a video meeting for hosts”

    • Available for all Google Meet plans

  • “Livestream from Google Meet to Youtube”

    • This feature is currently available to the following Workspace editions:

      • Enterprise Starter

      • Enterprise Standard

      • Enterprise Plus

      • Education Plus

      • Teaching and learning upgrade

      • Workspace Individual Subscriber

      • Google One Subscribers with 2TB or more storage space

  • The YouTube channel must be approved for live streaming in advance. It can take up to 24 hours to get approval.

  • The YouTube channel you have access permission to must be connected to an ongoing meeting.

  • The participants who have access permission to the connected YouTube channels are the ones who can start the live stream from Meet.

    • If host management is off: Anyone in the hosts’ organization can initiate a Live stream.

    • If host management is on: Only the hosts and co-hosts can initiate a Live stream.
