Adding contacts to a Community-Based Organization (CBO) within PublicInput can enhance your engagement and management efforts. This guide provides a step-by-step process on how to add individual contacts to an organization through the CRM Organizations tab or the Equity Mapping interface.

Step 1: Access the Organization

  • CRM Organizations Tab: Navigate to the CRM organizations tab on your PublicInput dashboard. This tab makes it easier to search and filter organizations, such as clubs in a specific area like the greater Charlotte area.

  • Equity Mapping Interface: Alternatively, you can locate an organization via the Equity Mapping interface.

Step 2: Open the Organization Profile

Click on the desired organization to view its profile. Here, you can see detailed information about where the organization operates and interact with various options, including the "Add Contact" button.

Step 3: Check for Existing Contacts

Before adding a new contact, ensure that they are not already in the database:

  • Enter the contact’s email address, name, or phone in the provided search bar to check existing records.

  • If a record is found, you can click "Add" on the matching contact record

If no existing records are found, click "create a new contact" to open the contact creation form:

Step 4: Enter Contact Details

Input any availabenecessary information for the new contact:

  • Email Address

  • Phone

  • Name

  • Title

  • Address

To match this contact against a system profile and track future interactions, please include an email or phone number, as these are unique identifiers on their profile record.

Step 5: Click Submit

Once all the relevant information is entered, click the "Submit" button to add the contact to your CRM. The system will then build out their profile and link it to the respective organization.

Step 6: Review the Contact

After submission, the organization editor will reopen, allowing you to view and verify the newly added contact.
