Introduction

Importing your organizations' data into your CPU module is streamlined using the CBO data import tool. This guide will walk you through the process using a sample CBO spreadsheet, setting up your spreadsheet headers, and uploading your data.

Preparing Your Spreadsheet

To begin, ensure your spreadsheet is formatted correctly:

  • Download the CBO import template here. This template provides a set of examples for proper data formatting.

  • Organize your data within the spreadsheet according to the recognized column names mentioned in the template.

Required fields

  • Organization Name

  • Organization Type

    • This should be the primary category of the organization.

    • If you need to add multiple types, add repeat rows with the Organization name and additional categories/types, one category per row.

The contact's email or phone is required if you're including organization contact data.

Adding multiple contacts to an organization

When adding multiple contacts, each contact should be on its own row. Repeat rows should each have all the required fields shown above.

2. Navigating to the Import Tool

Access the data import tool by:

  • Going to your dashboard.

  • Clicking on the Settings page.

  • Selecting the Data Import tab.

3. Uploading Your Spreadsheet

Once your spreadsheet is ready:

  • In the Upload New File section, choose Organizations and Contacts in the data type dropdown menu.

  • Click on the option to upload your file and select your prepared spreadsheet.

Navigate to settings, then Data Import, then select "Organizations and Contacts"

4. Importing the Data

After uploading the spreadsheet:

  • The system will initiate the import process. For fewer than a thousand organizations, the process typically completes in under 30 minutes.

  • For larger datasets with 10,000+ organizations, please contact support so we can monitor the long-running process generated for the import.

5. Verifying Your Data

Post-import:

  • Return to your CRM and select the Organizations tab to view the imported data.

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of the information.
